- Regardless of how strong and how good a temamate he is, he remains a human being and cannot ignore the consequences of a rib fracture. While broken ribs typically heal on their own within a few weeks, engaging in cycling, which involve movement and strain on the ribcage, can hinder the healing process.
With a rib fracture he can not help Pogacar anyway. Thus a responsible UAE chief would take João out of the race for João's own safe.
