Why didn't the team ask for it to be weighed on another set of scales to see if the scales are accurate? A and B samples as in doping cases.

Did Ciccone happen to tell Derek what was going on between him and Rubio? Surely if Geegee knew their arrangement he wouldnt have charge ahead. Was their DS watching ? Confusing but anything for a headline.

If Tadej had to retire today, there would be trivia questions like 'Which legendary road cyclist never won the Vuelta?' He is probably happy for Jonas.

he stays at home . . . so he is fresh for other races LOL and reading the article the author writes it in a specific way that does not seem congruent with Tadej or Jonas's personality or relationship. I don't think Tadej would do anything but congratulate Jonas. they are competitors but very sportsman towards each other.

The "I have it before you" doesn't need to be interpreted as a spiteful and jealous rivalry. It's a healthy rivalry. Both have said that they push each other on. And, on a different matter, Pogačar doesn't skip the Vuelta to focus on other races. He stays at home

There's a simple economic reason why these sport directors call for this claptrap. They want to be able to under perform and never have to worry about losing their places at the highest levels of the sport. If he gets this, he's locked in, no stress to perform. As it is, he's always 2 bad seasons from losing his sponsors and his license. So, this would stop any new upcoming team from competing against his team. Cycling stagnates. It's a typical thing done by monopolies and oligopolies, use their greater sway with the rule makers to prevent competition! -An Economist
