- if you stop printing anything from anyone who was connected to doping in this sport then it all goes very quiet very quickly. not a word from merckx, no more commentary from sean kelly, definitely don’t listen to contador, and on and on and on. if doping is the line in the sand for you then i completely respect that, but that position does drag many or even MOST of the biggest names in the sport who comment all the time into the dustbin of cycling history.
- yup, i agree. bruyneel is endlessly interesting to listen to. for over 40 years i’ve ridden, raced, and enthusiastically watched, and jb REGULARLY points out things about race dynamics etc. that i’ve never considered, and he certainly seems to be wired into the community of world tour insiders. love listening to him.
- You love your country. The most war mongering country in modern times. (A quote from your ex president Jimmy Carter) How many years has the US not been at war since it was founded? I believe it's about 19 years. And how many democratically elected government have they overthrown and installed their puppets? But you wouldn't know, your media tells you the US is the beacon of freedom..haa
- Yeah, a better helmet MIGHT do something, but even if you made the perfect helmet, you're not going to protect the neck of the rider from breaking under the stress of a high velocity impact.
Human bodies aren't meant to go, let alone crash, at these speeds.
The sport is dangerous, and you can do a bit to lessen the danger, but in the end it's the individual making the choice to put their life on the line to pursue the sport. That choice has to be respected, even if the worst happens.

- Those kids that drive on the wrong side of motorwsys around Dublin at night at weekends for social media likes think they’re smart.
You should read up about different forms of intelligence before judging everyone according to yours.
Smart is a long term final outcome game.
- Oh jeez, you really have something against these people don’t you?
Jonas races and performs enough for what he gets, he is watched and “enjoyed” by millions which is why he gets that salary. Very few of us regular people can attract the attention these guys get FROM US which is why no-one pays regular jobs well. If you’re against that system, be more like me and stop watching.in a way that enriches the system, same as football and worse, golf (just as examples), stop drinking Red Bull, driving Tesla, guzzling petrol, etc.
As for Trine, you didn’t get it because YOU focus on money too much, she’s smart in the motherly sense (you know, as in instinctive protection (of children) in that after aeeing the results of cycling she’s trying to make sure Jonas doesn’t end up like Finlay or like Sepp just almost did but nobody actually reflected on longer than 10 seconds, partly because the vast majority of active fans aren’t mothers, partly because if you do, you almost can’t make it in the sport, especially the way it is going.
Everyone thought Senna was great too but nobody asks his family if they regret his choices.
- Nairo Quintana has better results and more trophies to his name than many on the list.
- Trine smart? literally ruined jonas. Who says shes smart? shes definetely not smart. Jonas effectively just gotten worse and worse and thanks alot to this negative view towards racing. How can he become better when he dont try stuff, Trine anything but smart no idea who says that but that defintely wrong lol.
- Yes, no doubt about it.
- as for Trine, she isn’t that smart. it is easy to be smart when your spouse makes millions. go buy real estate, build an empire. but with her starting point, it isn’t that hard. it doesn’t take a lot of brains. I give her no credit.
