Wilco Kelderman's Paris-Nice 2024 campaign ended rather nastily after a nasty crash at the end of Sunday's final stage. Although he did cross the line and eventually secured an 8th overall finish, he now looks set for an extended break.
According to a report by Het Laatste Nieuws, the 32-year-old Dutchman broke his collarbone when hitting the deck on the final corner of the last stage. As mentioned, Kelderman managed to cross the line and was given the same time as the men he would've crossed the line alongside which kept his top-10 overall placing safe.

Riding as part of a Team Visma | Lease a Bike dual attack at Paris-Nice, Kelderman boosted his younger teammate, Matteo Jorgenson to overall victory in a very impressive performance.
Whilst it's not confirmed exactly how long the experienced Dutchman will not be out for, he was initially planning to race Amstel Gold Race, Flèche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège, building up to the Giro d'Italia. Whether or not he'll still be able to make the first Grand Tour of the year, time will tell although it looks unlikely.
