After powering his way to dominate victory at the Volta Limburg Classic, Kaden Groves was full of praise for his Alpecin-Deceuninck team and the patience they have shown in him.
“This makes me very happy,” Groves told reporters in the immediate aftermath of his win. “I had a good week in Catalonia and knew I was coming here in good shape.”
Outnumbered two-to-one by Lotto Dstny riders going into the final kilometres, Groves had to ride smart. "Lotto Dstny was able to play it tactically, so I had to keep riding. Then they certainly wouldn't start attacking, but that didn't make it easy," said the Australian. “Fortunately, my hard work over the winter is being paid back. I really have to thank the team. They have been patient with me, because the results took a while.”
