Stage 4 of Tirreno-Adriatico has as the main features the uphill finish to the race, but the tension has led to crashes. Wout van Aert and Tom Pidcock collided with each other and crashed in the run-up to the final climb.
The incident happened with just over 3 kilometers to go as the riders were set to enter the final ascent to Tortoreto. After van Aert pulled off the front of the peloton a moment of distraction led to a collision between the two classics stars - who have greeted each other and both quickly moved onto the finish.
