VIDEO: Tadej Pogacar makes his move at Strade Bianche! World champion goes solo with 78km still to go

Tadej Pogacar has once again blown apart Strade Bianche with a trademark long-range attack, accelerating clear with around 78 kilometres remaining on the brutal Monte Sante Marie gravel sector.

After UAE Team Emirates - XRG had set a relentless pace through the sector, Pogacar launched from the saddle and immediately split the remaining contenders.

Only the 19-year-old French talent Paul Seixas was initially able to respond, producing an impressive effort to bridge across to the three-time race winner as the race exploded on the Tuscan gravel roads, but didn't last long.

Behind them, several of the pre-race contenders were already struggling to hold position after the pace set by the UAE squad, with the field rapidly fragmenting across the sector that has so often defined the race.
