If there's one thing Tadej Pogacar knows better than anyone, it's how to manage a long-range attack at a major championship. This Sunday afternoon, the Slovenian has made his move with 75km to go at the 2025 European Championships, dropping Remco Evenepoel and going solo.

After Evenepoel was able to follow Pogacar's initial acceleration, as the world champion continued at a relentless seated pace, it wasn't long before the Belgian was beginning to look in difficulty. Although he managed to fight back a first losing of Pogacar's wheel, as Evenepoel began to fade again, this time there was no response and suddenly the recently crowned European time trial champion was looking backwards and waiting for Paul Seixas to help him in the chase.
