Video: How Tim Wellens has decimated his breakaway companions into brutally steep finish victory

Tim Wellens has taken the glory on stage 3 of the Vuelta a Andalucia, his first triumph of the season. Albeit later than usual, the UAE Team Emirates rider was the fastest out of the breakaway in the final ascent of the day and captured a meaningful win.

The final ascent to Alcalá de los Gazules was shortened due to the weather conditions, but Wellens nonetheless stormed up the ramps that went welll above 15%, with no match from the many riders who were also present in the day's breakaway. He had a big gap at the top of the steepest ramps, enough to earn him a quality win in front of Pierre Latour and Samuele Battistella.
