Uno-X reportedly send Vingegaard, Pogacar and Evenepoel images to UCI after stage winner Anthon Charmig’s yellow card
Cycling
Uno-X Mobility reportedly used images of Jonas Vingegaard, Tadej Pogacar and Remco Evenepoel in a challenge to the UCI after Anthon Charmig was handed a yellow card following his Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes stage 2 victory.
Charmig received the sanction from the race jury for using a non-compliant riding position, after he was judged to have rested his forearms on the handlebars during the stage. The punishment did not affect the result, with the Danish rider keeping the victory he claimed in Le Puy-en-Velay after a perfectly timed late attack from the breakaway.
According to Eurosport commentator Anders Mielke, who has spoken with Charmig, Uno-X later challenged the decision with the UCI commissaires by pointing to examples involving three of the biggest names in the sport.
Eurosport reported that the team showed images of Vingegaard, Pogacar and Evenepoel in the same position as Charmig, as part of an argument that the posture is regularly seen in the peloton.

Uno-X keep focus on Charmig victory
Uno-X have not publicly escalated the matter. When contacted by Eurosport, the team gave a short response and made clear that Charmig’s stage win remained their priority. “We have nothing to add to the matter. First and foremost, we are very happy with the victory, and we want to keep the focus on that,” Uno-X said.
That distinction is important. The story is not that Uno-X are accusing Vingegaard, Pogacar or Evenepoel of wrongdoing. The reported argument is about consistency, with the team apparently using those examples to question why Charmig was punished for a position they believe is often visible in races.
For Charmig, the yellow card came at the end of the biggest day of his season so far. He had spent much of the stage in the breakaway, waited through several attacks in the finale, then struck on the final climb before using the downhill run towards Le Puy-en-Velay to seal the win.
Yellow card debate follows stage 2 win
The UCI yellow card system has added another layer to race jury decisions, with riders now facing visible sanctions for conduct judged to fall outside the rules. In Charmig’s case, the issue was not a sprint deviation, dangerous riding or a crash incident, but his position on the bike.
That is what makes the reported Vingegaard, Pogacar and Evenepoel comparison so eye-catching. If similar positions are frequently used across the peloton, Uno-X’s challenge appears to centre on how consistently the rule is being applied.
For now, the official outcome remains unchanged. Charmig has his Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes stage win, the yellow card remains on the jury report, and Uno-X are publicly keeping the emphasis on the victory rather than the argument that followed it.

- I would love to have his inconsistency. How many wins this year? 2 TdF stages, a WC, a Euro championship, San Sebastian, multiple wins early year. Monument podiums. I'd take it. I don't think he has a chance in the TdF, but he is still amazing.mij04-11-2026
- He's not going to win the TdF. Maybe if they make every single stage a TT he could win. But I still believe Tadej would just sharpen his TT skills and win.mij04-11-2026
- You beat me to it. Should he make a full recovery (likely) and go light early in the year. One, two, three. Don't ask me, I don't give a damn. Should he be on a Feel-Like-He's-Fixin'-to-Die High.Yepperoni04-11-2026

- It's weird to say Evenepoel would be making a "serious mistake by adding the 2027 Giro d'Italia to his calendar, warning that such a decision could even be interpreted as a lack of confidence in his ability to win the Tour de France." It may well be a mistake but with so many commentators (of all sorts) continuously claiming almost everything Remco does as being a mistake, almost nobody should care what the pundits and the disparagers should say. His team may not want him to do the Giro, and that matters. But it's possibly or probably up to Remco to decide and it may not have to be decided on until a month or so ahead of the race. Yes , Remco is inconsistent much like the majority of the best riders but he's enjoying a period of not having been recently injured (or sick). Whatever he does he need not be concerned with critics who will second guess any perceived failure no matter what. I suspect he will have enough other races on his schedule so he won't be considering it. But the worst reason to not race it is because of what some will say - humorous that be.Yepperoni04-11-2026

- Every great cyclist has at least two Giro/Tour doubles, and in modern cycling or what we call modern cycling, Miguel Indurain is the only guy to do it twice. I think Tadej should go for it and commit if he is putting up good numbers somewhere around January/February.awp04-11-2026
