UCI World Tour Teams Ranking Update: UAE untouchable at the top, Netcompany INEOS just inside top 10 as Lotto surge and relegation battle takes dramatic turn

UAE Team Emirates - XRG remain comfortably clear at the top of the latest UCI team ranking, while Lotto Intermarché have made the biggest move of the week and the battle around the WorldTour cut-off has tightened considerably.
UAE now sit on 27,886.96 points, giving them a 4,444.31-point advantage over Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe in second. Team Visma | Lease a Bike remain third, ahead of Decathlon CMA CGM Team and Lidl-Trek.
The top 13 is unchanged, but the movement immediately below is much more significant. Lotto Intermarché have climbed three places to 15th after a profitable week led by Lennert Van Eetvelt, while NSN Cycling Team have slipped two positions to 18th.
The latest ranking does not yet include the points from the ongoing World Championships in Montreal.

UAE stretch their advantage as Lotto climb
UAE Team Emirates - XRG remain in complete control with 27,886.96 points, more than 4,400 clear of Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe. Red Bull sit second on 23,442.65, with Team Visma | Lease a Bike third on 20,987.77.
Decathlon CMA CGM Team occupy fourth with 18,604.32 points, while Lidl-Trek round out the top five on 16,448.40. XDS Astana Team, Bahrain Victorious, Netcompany INEOS, Uno-X Mobility and Soudal Quick-Step complete the top ten.
Alpecin-Premier Tech sit 11th, EF Education-EasyPost 12th and Movistar Team 13th, with no positional changes among those teams in the latest update.
The biggest mover near the WorldTour cut-off is Lotto Intermarché. The Belgian squad have climbed three places to 15th on 8,881 points, helped significantly by Lennert Van Eetvelt's performances at the Tour of Slovakia.
Van Eetvelt won two stages and the overall classification, delivering a major haul during a week in which Lotto also picked up points through the one-day programme.
Team Jayco AlUla remain 14th on 9,092.20 points, while Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team slip one place to 16th on 8,849.50. Tudor Pro Cycling Team are 17th on 8,834.70, just 65.70 points behind Pinarello.

NSN Cycling Team have lost two places and now sit 18th on 8,769 points. That leaves them only 300.97 points ahead of Cofidis in 19th and 361.74 clear of Groupama-FDJ United in 20th.
The whole section of the ranking remains extremely compressed. Only 473.74 points separate Pinarello Q36.5 in 16th from Groupama in 20th, while Tudor, NSN and Cofidis are all positioned within striking distance of one another.
Cofidis, currently 19th on 8,468.03 points, occupy the final place inside the top 19, with Groupama just behind on 8,407.26. With the Montreal World Championships still to be added, another sizeable swing remains possible before the next update.
Top-30 battle remains finely balanced
The fight for a place inside the top 30 is also close. Team Picnic PostNL currently hold 30th on 2,382 points, but Li Ning Star have moved up one position to 31st on 2,247.33. That leaves the Chinese team only 134.67 points behind Picnic.
Euskaltel-Euskadi have dropped to 32nd on 2,202.26, putting them 179.74 points outside the current top 30.
The Basque team therefore remain within range heading into the final part of the season, with the arrival of Mikel Landa next year adding further significance to their push to remain eligible for Grand Tour selection under the relevant UCI criteria.

- I would have a very good look at the aerodynamics of his upper body positioning compared to e.g. RE, seems to me he’s using far too many watts fighting against wind. We aren’t all born to slipstream so unless he’s prepared to start looksmaxxing, he’s not going to catch up now that all the youngsters are already being prepared for this discipline at an early age.
