UCI Rankings Riders Update | Tadej Pogacar extends lead after World Championships spectacle

The most recent update in the UCI Rankings features the points scored at the World Championships. This includes the time-trial and road race events and although it were only two race days, we have witnessed the big stars putting on great rides that would see meaningful ranking changes even towards the top.

The star of the week was obviously Tadej Pogacar, who won the men's elite road race with a 100-kilometer long attack that ultimately won him his first rainbow jersey in the most impressive fashion. 300 points were added to his tally, which is now of 11.690 for the year - if Pogacar was a team, his point alone would place him in 9th place at the team's ranking. His lead continues to be over that of Remco Evenepoel who actually scored more points over the week, conquering the time-trial title and finishing fifth in the road race, extending his lead in second place.

Jasper Philipsen remains third whilst Mathieu van der Poel, despite finishing third in the road race, has lost a lot of point when comparing the previous update and descended from fourth to sixth. Primoz Roglic leaped to fourth; whilst Ben O'Connor's stunning second place sees him climb to 9th to 5th place (after he also finished second at the Vuelta a España). Marc Hirschi climbed to 7th spot with over 300 points added as well when comparing to the previous update; he is followed by Jonas Vingegaard, Biniam Girmay and Wout van Aert who complete the Top10.

4th place in the worlds Toms Skujins climbed from 38th to 30th; Ben Healy broke into the Top100 into 90th whilst Enric Mas climbed from 23rd to 18th...
