  Yep, very close call, and that right after Finley. Just goes to show organisers are incapable of making the link between what they observe elsewhere and what they organise themselves. I guess it’s just a reflection of most people’s general attitude, very fast to prove they’re smart enough to see what went wrong elsewhere but incapable or unwilling to consider it at home.

  What you say is true, mij. But there does seem to be be something going on with Visma. Their new young riders are doing well, but several experienced riders left unexpectedly in the last year, with Yates leaving at very short notice - and then Nierman as well. And always looking for new sponsors, even while achieving good results. Hopefully Reef can get them back on track, I like his honesty.
