UCI Rankings Riders Update | Pidcock, Schmid, Morgado and Romo soar up the charts... Pogacar remains number 1

The 2025 season has begun and at this point, three weeks in, we've got two World Tour events concluded and plenty other races - mainly in Spain - giving away points to riders. We take a look at the first big update of the year in the UCI Rankings, including already a few moves.

At the top of the charts we cannot be surprised to see Tadej Pogacar at the top, with almost 12.000 points, almost double of that of Remco Evenepoel who is currently injured and out of action, and is expected to lose a few positions in the coming months. Jasper Philipsen, Ben O'Connor, Mathieu van der Poel, Marc Hirschi, Jonas Vingegaard, Primoz Roglic, Biniam Girmay and Wout van Aert complete the Top10. But there are no changes in positions here.

Those come lower down the rankings. The most notable one is of Tom Pidcock, now 22nd, climbing 7 positions with his two stages and the overall win at the AlUla Tour. Jhonatan Narváez won the Tour Down Under, but since he lost last year's already valuable points from the same race, he could only climb up 3 positions to 30th. But a few riders fully benefited from the Tour Down Under Points to climb up the charts like Magnus Sheffield (now 58th, climbing 29 positions); Javier Romo (now 8th, climbing 159 spots); Finn Fisher-Black (now 96th, climbing 73)... Or the winner of the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race Mauro Schmid who climbed 42 positions to now feature in 74th position. In Mallorca, we also had António Morgado scoring a massive amount of points to enter the Top100 and into 83rd.
