UCI Rankings Rider Update | Victorious António Morgado flies up rankings

The peloton is now in the middle of February and although next weekend a ton of points will be attributed, this Sunday's Figueira Champions Classic and Clasica de Almeria have given a few riders a big boost in the rankings. Portuguese rider António Morgado specially has been climbing up the ranks like no other rider.

You can check the previous update. The Tour de la Provence; Figueira Champions Classic and treble of Spanish classics (Murcia, Almeria and Jaen) have provided a decent amount of points for the riders at this time of year. António Morgado, already previously high in the rankings, has scored another 200 points by winning Figueira and is by far the highest-rated rider who did not compete at the Tour Down Under. He is scoring a heap of points for UAE Team Emirates - XRG outside of the World Tour and more is expected to come in the next updated as he is putting in a strong performance at the Algarve.

Jhonatan Narváez, Javier Romo and Finn Fisher-Black remain at the top due to their Australian block of racing, but with the UAE Tour concluding in the next days, changes will happen. Mads Pedersen, Michal Kwiatkowski and Milan Fretin are all in the Top50 now due to their wins over the weekend.

Next week there should be a large change in the outlook of the standings as a lot of points will be awarded at the end of the UAE Tour, Volta ao Algarve, Vuelta a Andalucia and the Tour des Alpes Maritimes et du Var.

*This ranking represents the UCI points scored over the past 12 months.

In the year-long rankings Tadej Pogacar remains at the top unsurpsingly, with the first few spots unchanged. Mathieu van der Poel is now fourth however, not having raced, but having overtaken Ben O'Connor who has lost points from results he had 12 months ago.
