UCI calendar for 2025 includes brand new World Tour classic in Denmark for both men and women

The UCI WorldTour will be expanded with a new competition in 2025. The international cycling union has announced that the Copenhagen Race, a brand new one-day race in Denmark, will be added to the calendar next season. The men's and women's competition will enter the WorldTour at the same time, just ahead of the National Championships.
The Copenhagen Race will be held on the weekend of June 21 and 22, two weeks before the start of the Tour de France 2025, colliding with the last stage of Tour de Suisse (June 16-22). On Saturday, we'll witness the women's race and on Sunday the men will compete in the Danish capital, which hosted Grand Départ in 2022. We can expect a flat route with a mix of short climbs, crosswinds and rain - the type of race that was missing on the calendar in the period.

It may well be a mistake but with so many commentators (of all sorts) continuously claiming almost everything Remco does as being a mistake, almost nobody should care what the pundits and the disparagers should say. His team may not want him to do the Giro, and that matters. But it's possibly or probably up to Remco to decide and it may not have to be decided on until a month or so ahead of the race. Yes , Remco is inconsistent much like the majority of the best riders but he's enjoying a period of not having been recently injured (or sick). Whatever he does he need not be concerned with critics who will second guess any perceived failure no matter what.
