UAE Team Emirates head to Tour de Romandie with two-pronged GC attack in Adam Yates & Juan Ayuso

After an excellent weekend for the team that saw wins for Tadej Pogacar at Liege-Bastogne-Liege and Antonio Morgado at the Giro della Romagna, UAE Team Emirates have revealed a top-quality lineup for the 2024 Tour de Romandie.

Leading the charge, a two-pronged general classification attack of Adam Yates and Juan Ayuso. “I have great memories from this race – it’s where I took my first ever World Tour win as well as being a beautiful region and place to race a bike," Ayuso says in a preview to the UAE Team Emirates' official website ahead of the race. "The form is good and we’ll be aiming to go for a big result with the quality of the team we have.”

“Obviously coming back as the defending champions we have a bit of expectation to do well again this year," adds Adam Yates, who triumphed ahead of Matteo Jorgenson and Damiano Caruso at the 2023 Tour de Romandie. "My first race back in Abruzzo was good and I think the form has come on another level since then so it’s all going in the right direction.”

With the likes of Brandon McNulty and Pavel Sivakov also potential general classification options and further support from Jan Christen, Felix Grossschartner and Ivo Oliveira, UAE Team Emirates will have strong ambitions of continuing their run of victories.
