The 4 Jours de Dunkerque have allowed Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale to continue their winning run in 2024 and that continues. Sam Bennett has won stage 3 in a bunch sprint, extending his race lead.
A flat day, it didn't encourage many to try and get to the breakaway of the day. Only two riders did in fact: Kenny Molly May and Gwen Leclainche. The duo's chances of winning were not big however, the peloton comfortably controlled the move which was caught with 14 kilometers to go. The bunch sprint began to be prepared.
A crash took place with 1.5 kilometers to go on both sides of a roundabout, reducing the bunch a bit. Decathlon managed to do a textbook leadout with Bennett being the first to launch his sprint, taking his second consecutive win as he outpsprinted Milan Fretin and Amaury Capiot.
