The opening day of the Tour of Slovenia saw UAE Team Emirates headline the stage, with the dominance that was expected. The hilly day saw Rafal Majka arrive at the finish line first, with Tadej Pogacar finishing in the chasing group directly behind.
The 164-kilometer long route into Postojna saw Tadej Pogacar attacking very early, with the intention of blowing up the race. Eventually he was joined by Rafal Majka and Domen Novak who worked together to distance the competition. Inside the final kilometers Majka attacked whilst Pogacar covered Novak, seeing the Polish climber take the win with a small gap over the other two riders.
