Tour de Suisse 2024 stage 3 GC Update: Alberto Bettiol into Maillot Jaune, Ethan Hayter & Wilco Kelderman complete top-3

Although the 2024 Tour de Suisse has not yet entered the high mountains, stage 3 has seen a shift in the general classification At the end of a spectacular day of racing, Alberto Bettiol managed to become the new holder of the Maillot Jaune.

The stage win went to Thibau Nys, but Bettiol, with his 3rd place on the day, moves up to first overall, taking the yellow from Yves Lampaert. Ethan Hayter holds 2nd place, 6 seconds behind the leader, and Team Visma | Lease a Bike's Wilco Kelderman moves up to 3rd.

Stephen Williams' 2nd place in the stage leaves him 4th overall, just ahead of Joao Almeida, who drops from 3rd to 5th, 9 seconds behind Bettiol. Roger Adrià's 4th place in the stage took the BORA - hansgrohe rider into the Top 10 overall, making him the best-placed Spaniard with his 10th place, 13 seconds behind the yellow jersey.

As for the rest of the Top 10, Finn Fisher-Black moves down from 4th to 6th, Mattias Skjelmose is 7th (moving up 5 places from 12th where he started the day), Adam Yates is 8th (previously 21st) and Jan Christen is 9th, leaving UAE Team Emirates with 4 riders in the top 10 overall.
