General Classification Standings after Stage 1

Stage 1 immediately created a more meaningful GC picture than a typical opening day, with Alex Baudin moving into the first leader’s jersey after winning from the breakaway. The Frenchman now leads Ramses Debruyne, Leo Bisiaux, Kevin Vermaerke, Rudy Molard, Ben Tulett, Luke Plapp, Kevin Vauquelin, Luke Tuckwell and Oscar Onley by 32 seconds.
That late split behind Baudin could prove useful for riders such as Onley, Vauquelin and Plapp, who all gained time on the main GC group. Isaac del Toro, Juan Ayuso, Paul Seixas, Santiago Buitrago, Matteo Jorgenson and Mattias Skjelmose all finished 44 seconds down, meaning they already have a small deficit to erase as the race moves deeper into the week.
