The World Time Trialist champion Tobias Foss has found renew ambition after his world time trial title that chocked all cycling world."After my world title, I can say that anything is possible. I just have to believe in myself." said during Jumbo-Visma team presentation.
It remains difficult to understand what happened. "During a recovery day I rode my time trial bike anyway, now I always get to put on that jersey. That gives so much energy. It's very special," he also stated showing still a bit of surprise for what had happened.
At 25, with this mindset and being a former Tour de l'Avenir winner, Foss always had that general classification man skills(being 9th at Giro 2021 edition) but at Jumbo-Visma it will not be easy for him to have his chances.
Foss will ride again next year Giro a race where he already finished inside the top 10 ,9th, but with Roglic on the team the focus will be on the Slovenian. "We are putting everything on Primoz Roglic. I can live with that. We're going for overall wins. Personally, I can go for top 10, maybe top five. But winning is the most important thing. And then Primoz is a better card," he stated.
But he is on his last year of contract with the team and seems to be open up to other possibilities "Yes, there are a lot of leaders here. And I'm going into my last year. You have to take things like that with you. At the moment I am very happy here. I just have to improve myself and then opportunities will follow, in whatever team" said Foss.
And his goal of winning a general classification did not disappeared "But a classification will always be a dream, yes, wherever I will ride," Foss stated. Right now Foss is scheduled for Volta ao Algarve, Paris-Nice, Vuelta a Catalunya, Tour de Romandie and the Giro.
