The schedule of 32-year-old Slovenian Jan Tratnik for the early part of 2023 has been revelead, with the Bahrain Victorious rider kicking off the campaign at Omloop het Nieuwsblad and climaxing at the Giro d'Italia.
After Omloop het Nieuwsblad on February 25th, Tratnik will be at Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne the following day on February 26th. Following these two races, the experienced Slovenian will travel to Italy and ride Strade Bianche on March 4th.
Staying in Italy, Tratnik will be riding Milano-Sanremo and will be hoping to go even better than his ninth-placed finish in 2022. His final race before the first Grand Tour of the season will be the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya. The fact Tratnik is set to race in Catalunya could also give an insight into Primoz Roglic's plans pre the Giro d'Italia.
Tratnik's Slovenian compatriot has been announced as leader of Jumbo-Visma's quest to claim the pink jersey at the Giro d'Italia with Tratnik, a stage winner himself at the 2020 Giro set to ride in support of Roglic at the race.
