"There's still a lot of time left" - Tadej Pogacar does not rule out La Vuelta return in 2026

The road season officially ended for Tadej Pogacar more than a week ago at Il Lombardia. However, the Slovenian has been participating in some final criterium exhibitions. The last of them, the Andorra Cycling Masters, where he talked about his possible participation in the 2026 Vuelta a Espana and more.

It's no secret that Tadej Pogacar is looking to complete his legendary palmarès. The Slovenian is obsessed with winning the races he has yet to win, such as Milano-Sanremo and Paris-Roubaix. Similarly, he has yet to win the Vuelta a España. But the problem with this race is that it coincides with another of the UAE Team Emirates star's main objectives.

During the Andorra Cycling Masters, where he is participating alongside Jonas Vingegaard, Isaac del Toro and Primoz Roglic, Pogacar has been clear that it's not the main part of his current plan but that he does not want to rule out a participation, just as was the case this year.

"The 2026 World Championships will be in Canada. That fits in nicely with the Canadian World Tour classics on those dates. But it's true that there's still a lot of time left. There's always a possibility," he said.

What is clear is that Pogacar is very clear about his main objectives: Milano-Sanremo, Paris-Roubaix, the Tour de France and the World Championships. By racing the spring monuments, Tadej Pogacar has virtually no rest until the Tour de France. The Vuelta a España will be a difficult fit because between the Tour and the World Championships there isn't a lot of time and it certainly wouldn't be the ideal preparation for the Canadia race.

In December at the team's training camp there should be more definition on the team's schedules and lineups for the main races of the season.
