The UCI has officially confirmed the UCI WorldTour teams that will compete in 2026, highlighting several significant developments in the cycling landscape. Among the most notable is the merger between Belgian teams Lotto and Intermarché, which will take effect under the new name Lotto-Intermarché.
Meanwhile, Australian outfit Team Jayco Alula has completed all administrative steps and licence requirements, securing its place without issues. For the Dutch teams, Team Picnic PostNL will only receive a one-year licence, leaving some uncertainty about its longer term future.
Across the wider WorldTour landscape, the overall composition remains largely stable, with a mix of returning heavyweights and newly restructured organisations. Established powerhouses such as INEOS Grenadiers, UAE Team Emirates - XRG and Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe continue to anchor the top tier.
The ProTour field shows a similarly diverse spread of structures and ambitions. Long running development programmes sit alongside commercially driven projects and national pathways, with outfits such as Bardiani CSF, Team Flanders Baloise, Polti VisitMalta, TotalEnergies, Tudor and Unibet Tietema Rockets all returning for another season. The category also retains a strong mix of European and international teams, ensuring a broad competitive base across the professional calendar.
On the women’s side, the WorldTour and ProTeam tiers remain globally varied, with teams from Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Germany, the United States and Australia all maintaining significant representation.
