Mauri Vansevenant has been showing great legs in Tour of Oman. The Belgian from Soudal-Quick-Step has been racing with the best along the race and now finished second only behind of the winner Matteo Jorgenson of Movistar Team. The 23 years old has been proving that he is a serious contender for the general classification.
"I'm actually a bit disappointed, I did feel I could win today. I was just a bit wrong with 200 metres to go, at the moment they turned on. That's a shame though, because I did have a really good feeling", Vansevenant told the reporters in the post race conference.
He finished fifth in yesterdays Stage 2 of Oman and now in another explosive uphill finish, Vansevenant secured a good second good place with the best. Still the Belgian isn't satisfied with that and aims to raise his hands on the finish line.
"It does prove that I am in shape. We will keep trying. I hope to be on the podium soon for sure. The battle is not over yet." Vansevenant concluded.
