The new UCI rankings have taken into consideration the points scored throughout this past week at the World Championships - aswell as a few minor classics in Europe - and they have revealed a soaring climb up the standings by Team BikeExchange - Jayco.
Having scored 725 points this week, mostly due to Michael Matthews' third place at the men's Elite Road Race, BikeExchange have left the 18th spot they occupied straight into 15th, just behind Movistar Team who are also in a relatively comfortable position. EF Education-EasyPost also saw some of it's riders score well throughout the week, and their 324 points have seen them go through Cofids again, and take 16th place.
In 17th and 18th now sit Cofidis and Arkéa Samsic respectively, who are 966 and 893 points ahead of Lotto Soudal. Simone Consonni's win at Paris-Chauny saw the French World Tour squad extend it's advantage, as the Belgian team sinks deeper in the standings and begins to have no way to salvage their season.
Israel - Premier Tech maintain their position, now 1000 points behind Lotto Soudal with a relegation as a certainty now. According to Raúl Banqueri's new report, the Israeli team has scored around less than 1000 points than TotalEnergies this season which will also see them fail to get the automatic invitation to all Grand Tour races, despite the generous placing of two position for that privilege.
