Tao Geoghegan Hart "super happy to be back in the saddle" for first time since horror Giro d'Italia crash

A season which began with such promise for Tao Geoghegan Hart was brutally brought to a premature end as early as stage 11 of the 2023 Giro d'Italia. For the first time since that crash though, the Brit has been back on his bike.

"It’s been a very busy few months of work. Almost everyday in the gym and on the physio table," the former Giro d'Italia winner writes on his official Instagram account. "And after all of that work, I’m super happy to be back in the saddle now and (a little surprisingly) feeling really good already."

Geoghegan Hart started the season well, winning two stages of the Tour of the Alps en route to overall victory at the race and being very well-positioned in the general classification of the Giro d'Italia before breaking his hip after crashing on a slippery descent.

That turned out to be the 28-year-old's final act in an INEOS Grenadiers jersey as he's set to join Lidl-Trek for 2024. "Grateful to have had time with plenty of special people in the last months amongst the daily grind of this rehab," Geoghegan Hart's Instagram post concludes. "Thanks to everyone in my circle for the support."
