Stephen Williams, however at the end of 2022 the puncheur will be heading towards new horizons.
Williams turned professional in 2019 with the Bahrain team and has taken his first pro wins last year, winning the queen stage and then the overall classification at the Cro Race. Although mostly a domestique, he was given the freedom to chase his own results occasionally, which have this June seen the 26 year-old win the opening stage of the Tour de Suisse where he then wore the yellow jersey for another four stages before abandoning the race with Covid-19 - as did the following race leader Aleksandr Vlasov.
The team is also set to loose the likes of Jan Tratnik to Jumbo-Visma, Luis León Sánchez to Astana Qazaqstan Team and Dylan Teuns to an unknown team. Adding to Sonny Colbrelli's unknown health status and continuation in pro cycling, Bahrain will have openings when it comes to spots available for the 2023 aswell as some more budget available.
