For the first time in this year's edition of the Tour de France, Tadej Pogacar was relatively quiet on stage 3. Speaking afterwards, the Slovenian expressed his delight at how the first three days of racing have gone.
"It has been a crazy finale, especially in the last 15 kilometres. I tried to stay safe in the finale, as it was a really fast finish," said the UAE Team Emirates rider after a chaotic finish to stage 3 that saw Jasper Philipsen of Alpecin-Deceuninck take the victory. "But the rest of the stage was calmer."
Sitting second in the general classification, only behind his teammate and supposed co-leader, Adam Yates, the first three stages of the Tour de France could hardly have gone better for Tadej Pogacar and UAE Team Emirates.

"So far so good. We have two easier days from the GC perspective, as I hope tomorrow’s stage is like today’s, and then we will hit the Pyrenees," he continues. "The Tour de France is long but we will be better off if we can get a few seconds here and there. So yeah, we will see later on if I have the legs [to win the Tour de France] or not."
