Romain Bardet will not be present at the startline on stage 6 of Tirreno-Adriatico 2024 today. The Frenchman has been ruled out after suffering some after-effects from a prior crash.
"After his crash yesterday and after passing initial assessment, Romain Bardet rode easy to the finish together with Chris Hamilton," reads an official announcement from Bardet's Team DSM-Firmenich PostNL's social media pages.
Although he finished yesterday's stage, Bardet has not been passed fit to start later today. "As per our concussion protocol, during intermittent checks yesterday evening, Romain began to display some mild signs of concussion," the statement continues. "Obviously, this means he is a DNS today at Tirreno-Adriatico and a period of rest will be observed while he fully recovers."
