It was an all out sprint finish from the reduced bunch where @romainbardet led us home on the day, just outside the top 15.👍🏻 #TreValliVaresine
Team DSM have had a very complicated season, however with some occasional strong performances from Romain Bardet and Thymen Arensman. The two team leaders are uniting at Il Lombardia, where they will race for the final time together for the time being.
With Arensman set to move towards INEOS Grenadiers in 2023, the two will separate at the end of the season. Whilst Bardet has led the Dutch team throughout it's last year, the two raced the first half of the season together, bringing in virtually all the results for Team DSM which included a GC win at the Tour of the Alps. Both will ride Il Lombardia this weekend, following Arensman's success at the Vuelta a Espana where he won the queen stage and rode to sixth place in the overall classification.

Team DS Pim Lightart said ahead of the race: "We are looking forward to the last monument of the season. We are going into the game with a team that is ready for battle. The riders are motivated to give their all one last time in the last race of the season. We want to race aggressively.”
The team will see young climbers Marco Brenner, Mark Donovan, Chris Hamilton and Henri Vandenabeele present, whilst Andreas Leknessund is also a wildcard to take into consideration for the mountainous race.
