Results USA national championships road race 2026 - Quinn Simmons does it again; 'Captain America' will take stars and stripes to the Tour de France

Kate Coutrney and Quinn Simmons have won the women's and men's elite road races in the United States of America. For the latter, it is a significant win that also has as a result his presence at the upcoming Tour de France once again with the iconic stars and stripes jersey.

The Lidl-Trek rider recently took a stage win in Auvergne and is one of the team's picks for the Tour de France; where he will be supporting the GC ambitions of Juan Ayuso and Mattias Skjelmose, the sprinting ambitions of Mads Pedersen and most likely chase breakaway success himself.

Kate Courtney also won the women's elite road race, beating teammates Lauren Stephens and Grace Arlandson to capture this title for the first time in her career at age 30.

"This was a really special one. To pull off a National Championship again and to pull on that jersey, it's beyond words," Courtney said in a post-race interview. "I really needed to give myself a chance to experiment and put myself in new, uncertain situations where I didn't have expectations, and I could really go for it. I did that today, and it worked out."
