Michael Vanthourenhout and Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado in 2025-2026
The X2O Trofee Badkamers Trofee has ended today with round 8, the Brussels Universities Cyclocross which was won by Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado and Michael Vanthourenhout respectively.
Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado won the women's race, the last big event of the winter - before the season ends next weekend. The race still featured a packed startlist, and Alvarado's late season win was not without due as she had to go through World Champion Lucinda Brand to take the victory. Manon Bakker was third.
Lucinda Brand however was the most consistent throughout the entire season and has not had to break a sweat this weekend to win it; taking the overall win with 13:20 minutes over Manon Bakker and over 21 on Inge van der Heijden.

Michael Vanthourenhout wins on Nieuwenhuis' crowning day

In the men's race, it was a much more selective race than that of the day before, and on this difficult course Michael Vanthourenhout managed to finally get the best of Niels Vandeputte - getting his revenge over the past day where Vandeputte took a dramatic sprint win.
Vanthourenhout was the winner, with Vandeputte finishing second and Gerben Kuypers finishing third. Joris Nieuwenhuis rode to fifth on the day and defended his lead successfully over Niels Vandeputte, with 1:45 minutes lead. Cameron Mason had a better day than most of those lately and still defended his spot on the final podium.
