Remco Evenepoel not set to race Amstel Gold Race, Soudal - Quick-Step correct rumour from Patrick Lefevere impersonator

Remco Evenepoel is currently in Tenerife preparing for the Giro d'Italia. He will beforehand race Liège-Bastogne-Liège as he attempts to defend his title, but will not race Amstel Gold Race, the team confirmed despite rumours.
A fake Patrick Lefevere account wrote yesterday that Evenepoel would be racing, leading to some confusion, with some news outlets also announcing an upcoming between the World Champion and Tadej Pogacar. The rumour has since been proven wrong in the meantime by Phil Lowe, press officer for Soudal - Quick-Step who dismissed the rumour.
Evenepoel is likely to remain for some more days atop the Teide volcano alongside his Giro block as he looks to build on a second Grand Tour win. It is a difficult goal where he will have to battle Primoz Roglic and other quality climbers, but it has become the main goal of the season for the Belgian.
