Tour de France general director Christian Prudhomme has responded to the rumours that have recently surged regarding the 2024 Tour de France, with indications to it's start and finale of the race.
This comes after the rumours that the edition could have it's finale away from Paris, but instead in Nice so as to avoid the clash between the Olympic Games and the Tour de France in Paris. “As of today, we haven’t decided anything yet, Placing the Tour de France and the Olympic Games side by side is a possibility, but we still have to work on it. In any case, nothing is certain yet," he told AFP.
The work is still being done in the background and announcements are expected in the coming months. The 2023 Tour de France will start in Bilbao, and the 2024 race is being heavily hinted to be hosted by the city of Florence in Italy.
This year the Grand Depart will take place in Copenhagen, with three stages in Danish territory to be followed by a hard race that's set to be decided in it's summit finishes. The race will also host two stages in Switzerland with finales in Lausanne and Châtel.
