Interview with Primož Roglič at the start 👇🏼. Surprisingly, he doesn't expect a bunch sprint at the finish 😅. Gremo @rogla 🔥💪🐝💗! #Giro youtu.be/ejhiojEJbOU
Primoz Roglic faces the first big mountain stage of the 2023 Giro d'Italia with a smile on his face. The Slovenian spoke with CyclingProNet before the departure in Sabbio Chiese.
Roglic knows that, after two weeks in which the fight between those in the general classification has been limited to a skirmish. After a sick Remco Evenepoel withdrawing and just two seconds between Roglic and Geraint Thomas, the moment of truth arrives. Thus, in a good mood, he joked with the journalist, but did not reveal any type of tactic to him. More than anything, check how the legs respond in a very hard complicated after the first day of rest:
"I don't expect there to be a sprinter from the peloton at the top. I'm going to attack from the start (he was clearly joking). No, we need to have legs, we have to see how they go during the long stage. We needed to survive before we got here," he laughs before referencing whether the race would have been different had Evenepoel still been around. "It's hard to say, but it would be different, it would also be different if there had been sun, if we started talking about what if, and if, and if, there are many things."
