UAE Team Emirates - XRG was the top scoring team when it comes to UCI points in 2025, by far.
It had Tadej Pogacar who was absolutely uncontested in individual terms, however when it came to the collective, the team had no problems in placing several riders close to the top. Here is a full breakdown of how the team achieved its record-setting points.
Pogacar scored 11.680 points, a eye-watering amount taking into consideration the standards of any single rider in the peloton except for him. Even racing at half speed, the Slovenian would've topped the charts, but with no injuries or illnesses limitating him in 2025, he simply raced to win everywhere. Strade Bianche, Tour of Flanders, Flèche Wallonne, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Criterium du Dauphiné, Tour de France, World Championships, European Championships, Il Lombardia... Even when he didn't win he always finished close to the front, such as at Milano-Sanremo and Paris-Roubaix which he should aim for in 2026 as big priorities as he tries to complete his monument list. The amount of victories, both in quantiy and quality, is simply 'alien', as many term it.
The team counts on
Isaac del Toro as its second best in this ranking, having been the third best rider of the year. His breakthrough began in May where he finished second at the Giro d'Italia, losing the pink jersey only on the last competitive day. However at age 21, the Mexican was put on a more modest calendar and put on one of the most dominating racing streaks in modern cycling. He won many Italian classics, several stage-races and just kept his form high from July to October to bring in countless points and victories to the team's tally - whilst gaining experience as a leader and winner.
The team sees
João Almeida also scoring over 4000 points, sitting fifth in the world charts. This comes as no surprise, as he has won the highest amount of top stage-races this year: Itzulia Basque Country, Tour de Romandie and Tour de Suisse. He was also second at the Vuelta a España. The Portuguese rider's acomplishments are already impressive, but would've been all the more if he had completed the Tour de France as planned.
For a second year in a row, UAE Team Emirates - XRG took Tadej Pogacar to Tour de France success. @Sirotti
Then comes Juan Ayuso, Jay Vine and Brandon McNulty, all of which scored several high-level victories this year including four Grand Tour wins at the Vuelta, and the GC of three stage-races in the final months of the season in McNulty's case. Ayuso won Tirreno-Adriatico, McNulty won the Tour de Pologne, Vine was second at the time trial World Championships... Each of them, despite their secondary role in the team, would've been the or almost the top scorer at the team with the closest budget this year: INEOS Grenadiers.
Despite being largely domestiques throughout the entire season, riders such as Jhonatan Narváez, Adam Yates, Tim Wellens, Pavel Sivakov and Florian Vermeersch all scored over 1000 points this year. Jan Christen is also part of this list, although the Swiss rider enjoyed more freedom. It is simply an astonishing tally. Every rider single rider in the team scored points, even those that are domestiques or road captains all year long such as Julius Johansen, Domen Novak, Rune Herregodts and Vegard Stake Laengen who are at the bottom of the charts.
