OFFICIAL: Netcompany INEOS rebuild continues as Paris-Tours winner becomes 7th signing for 2027
Cycling
Netcompany INEOS have continued their extensive rebuild for 2027 by signing former Paris-Tours winner Riley Sheehan on a two-year contract. The 26-year-old American will make the move from NSN Cycling Team after a 2026 campaign in which he has returned to winning ways, adding two victories alongside second overall at the Tour de Wallonie.
Sheehan first burst onto the international stage in 2023. Racing as a stagiaire, he became the first American winner of Paris-Tours, beating a group containing Tobias Halland Johannessen, Lewis Askey and Rasmus Tiller to claim by far the biggest victory of his career at the time.
A full professional contract followed. During his first full season in 2024, Sheehan finished third at Eschborn-Frankfurt, fourth at Tro-Bro Léon and 13th at the Tour of Flanders, before making his Grand Tour debut at the Vuelta a España.
There was no victory in 2025, although he finished third overall at the Deutschland Tour and fourth at the Arctic Race of Norway. This year, Sheehan returned to the top step with a dominant uphill sprint at Circuit de Wallonie in May, his first win since Paris-Tours.
Only weeks later he went close to an even bigger result at the Tour de Wallonie. Sheehan finished second overall and won the points classification after a consistent week that included third on stage two and second on stage four, before a crash during the decisive final stage brought a painful end to his challenge for overall victory.
He won again at the Czech Tour in August, taking the opening stage in Karlovy Vary. After his Circuit de Wallonie victory had come while racing alongside NSN's development team, it was his first win of the season with the WorldTour squad.

Classics role awaits at INEOS
“Joining Netcompany INEOS is a dream come true. It’s a team I’ve looked up to since I was young, and to now be part of such a successful and respected organisation is incredibly special,” Sheehan said following confirmation of the move.
“I believe I still have so much more to achieve in my career, and having the backing of this team is the perfect next step for me. I’m excited to get started, set ambitious goals and give everything I have to help the team win, while continuing to push myself to become the best rider I can be.”
“Riley is an exciting rider. He’s fast, technically very skilled and has the ability to perform across a range of terrain,” Director of Racing Geraint Thomas said. “We see him being a great addition to our Classics group, but he’s also a rider who can contribute right across the calendar. He brings plenty of versatility to the team, and we’re looking forward to helping him continue to develop.”

Seventh arrival in changing INEOS squad
Sheehan becomes the seventh rider confirmed to be joining Netcompany INEOS for 2027 during a significant period of turnover for the British team. Markel Beloki and Harold Tejada were both unveiled last week, with another three additions following on Tuesday as Joe Blackmore, James Shaw and former Vuelta a España stage winner Clément Champoussin secured moves.
They join a 2027 intake that was actually started considerably earlier. INEOS reached an agreement with highly rated Spanish prospect Benjamín Noval in June 2025, when he was just 16, allowing him to complete his junior development before stepping into the WorldTour squad next season.
Sheehan will not be the only rider making the move from NSN. Blackmore is also leaving the Swiss-registered team for INEOS, having agreed his move after a 2026 campaign disrupted by knee problems.
INEOS are losing several established names at the same time. Filippo Ganna will leave a year before the scheduled end of his contract to join Lidl-Trek, Magnus Sheffield is heading to Uno-X Mobility, Sam Welsford will move to Team Jayco AlUla after only one season with INEOS and Ben Turner has signed for Soudal Quick-Step.
With Turner and Sheffield leaving and Ganna also moving on, the Classics group Sheehan has specifically been recruited to strengthen will itself have a markedly different look when the 2027 season begins.
