"Now we're back to square one..." - huge disappointment for Dylan van Baarle who has completed only three racedays since his previous injury

The series of bad luck for Dylan van Baarle doesn't seem to have an end. The Dutchman from Visma | Lease a Bike missed a large part of the spring and was kept out of the Tour de France by injuries. In the second stage of the Vuelta a España it happened again: Van Baarle hit the asphalt, tried to continue his way, but eventually had to give up with what was later confirmed as a hip fracture.

"I can't describe how disappointed I am," reads the caption of Van Baarle's Instagram post. "It was a long road to get back and now we're back to square one... I'll have to undergo some tests at home. Thanks to Visma | Lease a Bike for taking such good care of me. I would also like to thank everyone for all the encouraging messages. I'll come back stronger," he concluded optimistically.
