In the new
Movistar Team program, called
'Viento de cara',
Iván Romeo starred alongside Pelayo Sánchez in a conversation between the two teammates. Both talked about their beginnings, what they remember of their first races with the telephone team, and their goals for the future.
At one point in the conversation, Pelayo asked Romeo about the gold he won at last year's U23 World Time Trial. This prompted the latter to reveal his big dream for this season:
To win the Time Trial in Rwanda 2025, Iván Romeo will have to take on the world's greatest specialist in the discipline:
Remco Evenepoel.
The Belgian has won the last two editions of the
World Championships. He is also the reigning Olympic champion and won the European time trial title in 2019, in his first participation.
For now, Evenepoel is recovering from a crash he suffered while training in December. The Soudal - Quick-Step star aims to return in April. His main goal will be to fight the Tour de France against Pogacar and Vingegaard. But after that, he will go all out to defend his world time trial champion title for the third year in a row. Can Iván Romeo take it away from him?
