Remco Evenepoel suffered a very harsh crash in early December and only one month later was he able to resume some sort of training, on the indoor bike. Some weeks after he return to the road and is currently preparing for his start of the season. We learn new details about the Belgian's plans.

Evenepoel suffered fractured ribs, scapula, hand, as well as a dislocated collarbone and two bruised lungs. What had initially seemed like a small incident proved to be a list of serious injuries that severely delayed his plans for 2025. He will likely begin his racing on the 17th of April at the Brabantse Pijl, with the Ardennes classics afterwards as his first big goals of the season - although his form will be rather unknown.

Afterwards should come the long preparation plan for the Tour de France which should include an altitude camp, Criterium du Dauphiné and Tour itself. His small amount of race days early on could see him still decide to race a lot in the latter part of the season.

Evenepoel is already taking on long training rides and recently rode together with the team in the recon of Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. This Sunday he did a recon of Brabantse Pijl which takes place near his home in Belgium, a ride of over 220 kilometers. Evenepoel will soon join Mikel Landa and Valentin Paret-Peintre in an altitude camp ahead of his return to racing, this will be the Giro d'Italia block which will be preparing for high-level competition in early April.
