Michael Woods "looking forward to the Tour de France even more" after winning La Route d'Occitanie

The fourth and final stage of Route d'Occitanie was held on Sunday. Niccolò Bonifazio won the stage. Michael Woods maintained his lead in the general classification to win Route d’Occitanie 2022 overall.

"I am very happy with this result and also the team spirit makes me happy. We had Cole Kessler riding in the lead all day and then Guy Sagiv and Taj Jones keeping me out of the wind. Carl Frederik Hagen came along at the end to defend my position," Woods described.

Woods resisted the attacks on the crosswinds on the final day to take his first stage-race win. Additionally, he also brought 125 points for Israel - Premier Tech which has taken them closer to going above the red line.

"I am extremely happy. Now I'm only looking forward to the Tour de France even more," the Canadian concluded.
