Video: Niccolò Bonifazio miraculously avoids disastrous crash after win in La Route d'Occitanie

Niccolò Bonifazio won the final stage of La Route d'Occitanie, his first of the season in surprising fashion however his success almost ended in disaster when a child ran across the road right after the finish line.

Bonifazio beat Max Kanter and Matteo Moschetti to the win in Auterive. It was a very tight finish, with photographers and some audience right after the finish line. Inbetween those was a small child that ran across the road just moments before the high-speed Italian rode through.

Miraculously, a crash was avoided as the Italian quickly reacted, although visibly emotional after the encounter. Bonifazio had signalled the crowd to move before the dangerous moment, but luckily the worst was avoided.
