Mauro Gianetti has been named Manager of the Year at a prestigious ceremony in Milan, rounding off a record-breaking 2025 campaign in which UAE Team Emirates - XRG set a new all-time benchmark for victories in a single season.
The Swiss team principal received the Prime Cycling Manager Award during the conference “Towards New Goals: The Future of Cycling”, an event organised by PrimeLex together with Banca Generali Private and LIS SpA. A full hall provided the backdrop as Gianetti was recognised as the world’s leading cycling manager for 2025.

Award crowns historic year for UAE Team Emirates - XRG

Gianetti’s accolade arrives at the end of a season in which UAE Team Emirates - XRG rewrote the sport’s statistical records. The team closed 2025 with 97 victories, the highest tally ever recorded by a professional squad. The breadth of their success was equally remarkable, with almost the entire squad contributing at least one win across the season.
“Receiving this recognition from PrimeLex is a great honour,” Gianetti says in quotes collected by Tutto Bici Web. “It is the result of the passion and commitment that I put into my work every day. I was able to talk about the team’s behind-the-scenes and about the project in the United Arab Emirates that promotes cycling as a healthy lifestyle: a unique model that can inspire other countries.”

A landmark season sets the bar for 2026

For Gianetti, the Prime Cycling Manager Award serves as a formal recognition of a season that has pushed UAE Team Emirates XRG to historic heights. With the squad delivering a record win total and demonstrating unmatched strength in depth, their 2025 campaign stands as a new reference point within the men’s WorldTour.
As the team turns towards 2026, expectations will inevitably rise — but Gianetti’s leadership, now acknowledged on a wider stage, remains central to a project that has reshaped the competitive landscape of professional cycling.
