Mark Cavendish won the RSM-Wealer Ronde in Maastricht on Friday. The Manxman from Astana Qazaqstan Team was the fastest man in the race, finishing ahead of two-time Giro d'Italia stage winner Nico Denz and Laurens De Plus.
The criterium in Maastricht is traditionally ridden on the Friday after the Giro d'Italia. Cavendish, who won the final stage of the Italian Grand Tour last week continues his winning streak and hopes to carry onto Tour de France where he'd like to break the record of 34 stage wins he shares with Eddy Merckx.
Lorena Wiebes triumphed in the women version followed by her teammate Mischa Bredewold in second. Fenix-Deceuninck's Yara Kastelijn rounded up the podium.

He was convicted civilly but technically for committing crime. I on the other hand live in a country where unexplained damage to a baby in your care in theory leads to minimum 5 years of prison, if you admit an accident it’s more lenient but telling the truth that you don’t know how a bump on the skull happened exposes you to the as much risk as some who murder and rape.
