Marco Haller has taken his first victory since 2015 at the
Tour of Norway, emerging victorious from a reduced bunch sprint in what proved to be a successful day for
BORA - hansgrohe.
The 232 kilometers en route to Kristiansand were not completely flat, and they proved to be a bit of a challenge for the peloton which saw a hard pace over the final hilly section of the stage. No rider managed to make a definitive difference, and the remains of the peloton headed towards a complicated sprint where there was no real leadout. It was launched from far, Marco Haller hit the front and behind there weren't legs to take back the lead, as the Austrian beat
Ethan Vernon and
Alexander Kristoff to the line.
