The Vuelta a Espana has finally come to an end after a grueling three weeks of racing. Trek-Segafredo rider Mads Pedersen scored three stage victories and won the green jersey. He gave his best till the end and finished second in the final stage.
โ€œAgain, today my team did really, really good work," said Pedersen. He was hoping for a fourth victory, but to his surprise, Juan Sebastiรกn Molano clinched the final sprint. โ€œWe had a really good position in the last corner, and we hoped the bunch would kind of stop and go so we could come from a bit behind, but UAE played it really perfect.โ€
But the rider is not disappointed with the result, he acknowledges Molano's superiority in the final stage and praised the young rider on his achievement. โ€œThey managed to have almost the whole team in the last corner, they did like a pro cycling managerโ€™s sprint, so huge congrats to them. In the end, I just didnโ€™t have the legs to pass them. We played a perfect finale, but Molano was just faster than me, and thatโ€™s how it is,โ€ concluded Pedersen.
