The Giro d'Italia has come to a close and joining Simon Yates on the final podium will be a few riders that have highlighted the race. Mads Pedersen, Lorenzo Fortunato and Isaac del Toro have won the secondary classifications of the race.
Simon Yates has managed to conquer the overall classification, but it was UAE Team Emirates - XRG who takes the title of best team's classification after having spent two weeks with Juan Ayuso and Isaac del Toro in the fight for the race's victory. Even after his departure, the work of riders such as Adam Yates, Brandon McNulty and Rafal Majka meant the team managed to win with a very comfortable margin over Bahrain - Victorious and Team Visma | Lease a Bike.

Mads Pedersen (Points classification)

Mads Pedersen won the famous Maglia Ciclamino, which he wore throughout the entire race. The Lidl-Trek was the main favourite to win it, but after five stages it felt like it was comfortably in the bag after the Dane won three stages, and out of the first four sprints, his main rivals were not present due to the climbs that had to be faced.
In the end Olav Kooij, with two bunch sprint victories, managed to get himself in second place in the classification - however a very distant one. Wout van Aert was third, followed by Dries de Bondt and Isaac del Toro.

Lorenzo Fortunato (KOM classification)

Similar to Mads Pedersen, Lorenzo Fortunato began working for the mountain jersey right in the first days of the race and built a large gap so quickly that it demotivated rivals from trying. The Italian was in firm control of the classification ever since taking over the lead on stage 3. His closest rival, and the only rider with more than half of Fortunato's points, was his own teammate Christian Scaroni.

Isaac del Toro (Youth classification)

The youth classification did not have it's own battle this year. Juan Ayuso and Isaac del Toro shared over the lead throughout most of the first week of the race, and Isaac del Toro took control of it on stage 9 at the same time as he jumped into the lead of the race. He only actually wore this jersey today in Rome. Giulio Pellizzari and Max Poole joined him on the podium.
