Lotto Soudal CEO John Lelangue leaves team as World Tour relegation becomes certain

Lotto Soudal have had a very complicated season, and the consequences are being seen within it's structure as CEO John Lelangue announced his departure from the team.

The team said in a press release that "it was John Lelangue his own decision to leave the team and we do so on the best of terms." The manager of the team has joined in 2018, but on mutual agreement he is set to end his role with the team at the end of 2022 following a complicated season that will see the Belgian team relegate into Pro Team level.

Rumours are already emerging regarding candidates to step up to the role in 2023, with Eddy Merckx' son Axel - current manager of the Hagens Bermans Axeon team - coming in as a possible option for the team's futuree.
